In remembrance: at the dawn of the 18th century, the bridge—first built in 1434 with two arches—having been destroyed by the force of the waters after many years, was ordered by the Senate and People of Nuremberg to be rebuilt from its foundations and firmly secured for public use, in the year 1700.

2nd Plaque
Under the august auspices of Leopold the Great, pious, fortunate, and unconquered Emperor, and of Joseph, August King of the Romans, whom the loyal people of Noricum revere and look to as the best guardians of both the old age and the new.
