1. Chalmers Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Marker
Inscription. John Thomas Chalmers (1860-1902) was a native of Mecklenburg County and a minister whose legacy continued a long tradition of Presbyterian influence in this area. In 1896, Chalmers built a church nearby that included a large school. After death, local residents built a new church on this site and named it in honor of the life and work of John Chalmers. Many prominent Charlotteans, including world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, attended Chalmers Memorial A.R.P. Church at one time.
