(Circa 1830)
In 1722 this site was part of the Royal Hospital's Botanical and Herb Garden. In 1797 Rafael Ramos gained ownership from a suit against the Royal Hospital. He, in turn, sold it in the same year to Andres Almonester y Roxas, benefactor of the St. Louis Cathedral, Cabildo, and Presbytere. In 1798 Mme. Louisa de La Ronde, widow of Andres Almonester y Roxas, donated the property to the Ursuline Nuns. The existing building is described in an act of sale dated 1834 from the Ursuline Nuns to Josepa Lombard, Sr. Edward Champ Carter bought the property in 1845, and his succession sold it in 1859 to Pierre A. Turberg. The property stayed in the Turberg Family until 1913 when Cιcile Llambias Marchal Family purchased it. The Dupιpι Family acquired the property from the Marchal Family in 1959 and incorporated it into the Hotel Provincial Complex. The Vieux Carrι Commission has designated this building as having local historical and architectural significance.
This property has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
