1. Former Ursuline Convent Marker
Inscription.
Erected 1745, during the reign of Louis XV, King of France replacing an earlier convent built 1727 - 1734 near the same site closer to the river. Ignace Franηois Broutin, architect Claude Joseph Villars du Breuil, builder.

Occupied until 1824 by the Ursuline Nuns as convent, orphanage and school for girls. Residence of the bishops and archbishops of New Orleans, 1824-1899.
 
Erected 1961 by Orleans Parish Landmarks Commission.
