Unlike other dinosaurs represented here, Stegosaurus lived during the Late Jurassic period, more than 145 million years ago. McCauley created this sculpture at COSI in June 2016.
Velociraptor Mongoliensis
Nickname: "Fredrick"
Velociraptor had feathers. Paleontologists discovered quill knobs (where feathers attach to the bone) on a well-preserved Velociraptor in 2007. McCauley envisioned how the pieces of this and his other sculptures would fit together before he began assembling them.
