Warehouse District Anthology
Warehouse District Anthology is a collection of stories that tell the history of Cleveland's first neighborhood. Like street level book pages, each freestanding element was designed by artist Corrie Slawson based on the District's history, curated and written by Thomas Yablonsky.
Each chapter in the anthology is inspired by the evolution of the neighborhood. Imagery, style and graphics draw the viewer into the various eras of the District from Cleveland's early settlers to the City's innovative businesses and industries to the demise and rebirth of the residential neighborhood.
A walk through the neighborhood will reveal the Warehouse District's deep and continuing story that is rich in architecture, industry and heritage.
Corrie Slawson is an artist whose work is the result of a journalistic survey of properties and land; she builds cityscapes and landscapes that underscore development patterns, population loss, and land use through layers of printmaking. drawing, and painting. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S. and internationally and is represented by Warehouse District mainstay Shaheen Modern and Contemporary Art. Slawson collaborated on this project with design firm Agnes Studio, run by principal partners Danielle Rini Uva and Katie Parland.
