More about this marker. According to various news sources, this memorial and a handful of others were dedicated when Victory Avenue was opened in City Park in 1919, and local residents were invited to dedicate memorials in front of the oak and magnolia trees along the avenue.

The marker for Donald Bradburn is off-camera to the right, near the Victory Avenue entrance to the sculpture garden.
he worked in the lumber industry. He enlisted in the Army when the United States entered the war in 1917 and fought in France in 1918. He is buried in Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. Westminster, Colorado, where he lived before the war, has a Bradburn Boulevard, which was renamed after Bradburn in 1919.

Excerpt: “A month after his death, The Times-Picayune published one of his last letters home to his parents from the battlefront.
