Regarding In Memory. The American Legion post's namesake and the first name listed on this memorial in Chicago Ridge, Glenn Maker was the only man from Chicago Ridge to die during
World War II. Maker enlisted in the Army in 1939 and served for almost six years. He was wounded in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge and died there on January 4, 1945. He is buried at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium.
