1. Sand Bin Marker
Inscription.
This concrete tower once contained freshly washed sand. Workers moved the clean sand to the filter beds using horse-drawn wagons and, later, hoses. By the 1930s, the bins were no longer necessary, as tractor-like machines could clean the sand within the beds.
