Playhouse Square
History
Playhouse Square, the largest performing arts center west of New York, welcomes one million visitors annually in eight spaces for Broadway shows, concerts, arts education and more. Four of the 1920's theaters were saved moments from a wrecking ball and restored - still the world's largest theater restoration project. PlayhouseSquare's mission of developing the neighborhood created a thriving hub for entertainment, business, technology, public broadcasting and housing in an area that was to become a parking lot.
