This palace was commissioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat in the late 19th century.

It is Germany's most popular tourist destination in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
 
Erected 2012 by Thomas Seward and Steven Seward in memory of their father James E. Seward.
