Pacific Public School opened in 1855, in a two-room building. A larger brick school, built in 1873 for $5,999, was expanded in 1901, 1920, and again in 1939 with classrooms, restrooms, and a gym. Over time, it has served as a preschool, special education center, and storage facility.
