In the early 1900's, Lawrence Leber used a horse-drawn wagon to deliver Excelsior Beer from the train depot to Pacific businesses. After his death in a train accident, sons Ed and Lawrence II continued the business. Relatives operated Leber Hall on West St. Louis Street, with Mary Leber its longest-serving owner, until it was demolished for a Citizens Bank expansion.
