Inscription.
When the Missouri Pacific Railroad took over in 1872, they needed to build a larger depot to accommodate their growing transportation needs. The Pacific Depot was constructed in 1882 along the tracks downtown. The depot was torn down in 1976, but several pieces of it are still around today. The Meramec Valley Historical Society has one of the wooden benches that sat outside of the depot, and a few of the glass windows from the building were purchased by residents of Pacific.
