1. G.K. & Eliza Greening House Marker

Inscription.
Union Veteran G.K. Greening and wife Eliza moved from Cornland, Illinois to Lynn Haven and built this bungalow home in 1913. Interior plaster walls, trim work and exterior details were typical of the early Craftsman-style bungalows of that time and most of the original details remain. In 1936 the home was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. W.D. Ward and stayed in that family until 1983. It represents a time when this area of Lynn Haven was “one of the most fully built out” neighborhoods in Lynn Haven and its residents were within walking distance of shops, churches and schools.

2. G.K. & Eliza Greening House & Marker
The marker is mounted on the fence, overlooking the northeast corner of the house.
the American Civil War. The town was named after W. H. Lynn, a primary stockholder of the St. Andrews Bay Development Company, the corporation that owned and developed the land on which Lynn Haven grew.

2. Gershom K Greening (1841-1923) (Find A Grave).

(Constant Cemetery, Buffalo Hart, Sangamon County, Illinois, USA) Excerpt: Gershom K Greening was born May 31, 1841, near the city of Springfield, Illinois. When the war of the Rebellion broke out, Mr. Greening enlisted in Company I, of the One Hundred and Fourteenth Illinois Infantry, for three years; served full term and was honorably discharged August 8, 1865. He was forty-seven days under fire at the siege of Vicksburg, Mississippi; participated in the siege of Mobile, battles of Jackson, Guntown and Tupelo, Mississippi, raid of General A. J. Smith after Price's army, winter of 1864, and all the many other engagements in which his regiment participated. Mr. Greening was not wounded, but while acting as color bearer at battle of Guntown, Mississippi, had seven shots through his clothing.

K Greening married Eliza J Day on 26 Sep 1882 in Logan County, IL. Census records for 1900 and 1910 both show that seven children were born to them, six living in 1900.
