1. Alonzo Ogdon House Marker
Alonzo Ogdon and wife Ida came to Lynn Haven in 1911 from Salem, Missouri and built this house on E. 8th Street & Colorado Avenue near the Gay Family Plantation (now the Panama Country Club). He was a Union Veteran who served in Co D of the 12th Illinois Cavalry. The property stayed in the hands of Ogdon descendants until 1940. In 1988 the Glenn Smith Family constructed a new home on the property, and this house was moved to this location. It was reconstructed with only the loss of the original brick chimney. Fine interior millwork, windows, and floors still remain with the home. An earlier small wooden house on the site was removed prior to the Ogdon House being reconstructed at this location.
