1. Stand By Me Marker

Inscription.
Just upstream from this point, along the hillside, is the film location of this coming-of-age movie where the four 12 year old boys “dodge” the train. The bulk of the film was shot in the small town of Brownsville, 45 minutes north of here.

Did You Know?
Lost In The Stars’ (1974) opening establishing shots were filmed just south of this location. Due to the film’s criticism of the apartheid system, it could not be filmed in South Africa.

2. Stand By Me Marker
