Wallula Veterans Memorial
(Front Marker)
Duty-Honor-Country
The sacrifices of the few ensured the freedom of many. A grateful community remembers those who served in the armed forces of the United States during times of war and peace, whose courage and personal sacrifices defended and preserved our freedom.
Remembering Their Sacrifices
Dedicated to Major General Garnet R. Reynolds, Army Reserve Commander, 124th ARCOM Division
(Side Marker)
All Gave Some... Some Gave All
Engraved upon this stone,
I touch his name and feel,
The tears are streaming down my face,
His memory is so real.
His name is there with many more,
Who sacrificed their lives,
To bring freedom to a world,
So filled with war and strife.
In Wars We've fought around the world,
We've lost many brave young men (and women)
Freedom cost the greatest price,
And those payments will not end.
Until the day when Jesus comes,
To take His children Home,
We'll hear him say, "All wars have ceased."
Then peace at last is won.
But until that day we'll remember those,
Who gave their lives that we,
Might enjoy this thing called freedom,
And we'll know that it's not free.
And to those who fought in Vietnam
And were able to come back home
Just know, no matter where you are,
You will never be alone.
