1. First Presbyterian Church Marker
The organizational meeting was held January 19, 1913 and construction on the exterior of the building began July 1915. Rev. Ira Miller came from Indiana in October 1914 to serve as "supply minister" to the newly formed church and directed the construction. By late February 1916 the first meetings and services were held in the building although only the exterior was complete. The original sanctuary faced the east but was later reconfigured to face the west so that the worshippers would not face the glare of the morning sun. The new church contained a Delco electric lighting plant and at a later date a kitchen, fireplace and pastor's study were added to the north side. Rev. William Covert served as pastor from 1922 until 1926 when he was replaced by Dr. William I. Hall. The original stained glass windows of the church were replaced in the spring of 2008. Early members of this church played leading roles in the ongoing history of Lynn Haven.
