Ashland provided the inspiration and setting for this first stop-motion animated feature from Laika Studios, based on the novella by Neil Gaiman. The film's namesake, a young girl called Coraline, lives in a charming small town, complete with a Shakespeare Festival that permeates the culture and wonder of the community, when she finds a door that leads to a parallel reality.
