Regarding Shawn Giles. Giles, 53, was performing fire police duties on August 20, 2023, at a crash scene on US Route 20 near the intersection with Brickyard Road in North East when he was struck and killed by a motorist.
Adele Burnett-Giles, the widow of Shawn Giles, has spent the time since the accident partnering with PennDOT, law enforcement officials, and other first responders to spread awareness across the state about the Move Over Law.
