1. The Ohio State University at Lima - Galvin Hall Marker

Inscription. Galvin Hall was the first building on The Ohio State University at Lima campus. When it opened in 1966, it housed everything from classrooms and offices to the library and administration.

The building is named for John E. Galvin, a local philanthropist and co-founder of The Ohio Steel Foundry. In 1963, Galvin quietly donated $250,000 to help establish the campus and purchase this site. When the building was completed, it was named in his honor-requiring special permission, as Galvin was still living.

As the primary home for both academic instruction and student resources, Galvin Hall stands as the cornerstone of our campus.
