1. The Interurban Railway Marker
The interurban railway passed through Groveport on Blacklick Street and connected the town to other Central Ohio towns.
Scioto Valley Traction Line cars could reach speeds up to 60 mph.
The first interurban car to pass through Groveport was on July 19, 1904, on its way from Columbus to Canal Winchester.
The trip from Groveport to Canal Winchester took five minutes. The Scioto Valley Traction Line depot in Groveport was located on the northwest corner of Brook Alley and Blacklick Street.
The Scioto Valley Traction Line began operations in 1904 and functioned until the early 1930s.
