Regarding Veterans Memorial. Based on a few sources, it appears that this American Legion post formed in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood on Chicago's far south side after World War II and closed in the mid-1970s. Its headquarters building,

about 5 blocks west of here at 3422 W. 111th St., was sold in the 2010s and is now home to a chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Proceeds from that sale were used to erect this memorial in 2016 at the intersection of 111th and Kedzie.
