1. 128 West Elder Marker

Inscription. Built in 1861, 128 W. Elder first housed a grocery store, a chinaware shop, and a shoe store. The building sat vacant in 1939 and 1940, and in 1941, William Harold Brooks started his Elder Café. He managed it until 1965, and even after that, the restaurant continued until 1999. The building sat vacant from 2000 to 2007, and in 2008, Michael Maxwell opened Market Wines.
