1. 118-120 West Elder Marker
Inscription. 118-120 Elder were two buildings that fronted Elder Street. John F Moser used both buildings for his grocery and saloon from 1858 until 1885. When John was not utilizing the storefronts, a series of notion shops, all run by German immigrants, occupied the first floor. At the turn of the 20th century, 118 W. Elder housed a saloon, a dry goods shop, McAlpin's Department Store, and Siegel's, a women's clothing store. 118-120 W. Elder is most currently home to Pet Wants, a fresh pet food delivery store, and formerly, Silverglades, a family-owned and operated deli that ran for over 100 years until its closure in 2024. A new tenant entered the space shortly thereafter, and this corner remains a beacon, welcoming guests to Findlay Market each day.
