1. 1730 Race Marker

Inscription. Built in the 1860s, this one-story building was formerly several three-story buildings save for one. Numerous businesses in the late 1800s utilized the storefronts including a mineral water manufacturer, a police station, a confectionery, a saloon, a shoe store, a barbershop, a tea and coffee shop, a millinery operation, and a wine shop. Sometime between the early 1950s and 1970s, the building was shortened to one story. Since 2001, it has been home to Our Daily Bread, a non- profit soup kitchen, day shelter, and resource center for people in Over-the-Rhine experiencing homelessness.
