1. 105 West Elder Marker

Inscription. Built in the early 1860s along with its neighbor at 107 W. Elder, 105 W. Elder was first home to Friedrich Ulhmann and his family's dry goods store from the 1860s to 1875. Throughout the 19th century and early 20th century, four families typically resided on the upper floors of 105 W. Elder. Throughout much of the 1920s, the building's storefront then served as one of the many locations of the Foitz Grocery & Baking Company. From the early 1930s until the early 2000s, 105 W. Elder's first floor was a butcher shop, and a handful of individuals continued to rent apartments above the storefront. By the early 2000s, the building sat vacant.
