1. 123-127 West Elder Marker
Inscription. Built in 1860, 123-127 W. Elder were originally three separate wood-frame buildings. These early structures provided commercial space for numerous businesses over the late 1800s including a coffee house, a tailoring business, a saloon, a grocery, a shoe store, a millinery operation, and a dairy market. Right around the turn of the 20th century, these structures were demolished to make way for the current two-story brick building. This newer building also had a commercial purpose, offering storefront space for a variety of businesses in the early 20th century.
