1. 135 West Elder Marker

Inscription. Built in the 1860s, 135 W. Elder had an active storefront with residential lodging on its upper floors. The earliest commercial uses of this space included a tailor shop, a grocery, and a clothing store. It sat vacant in the mid-1980s until its revitalization in 2016, when Deerhaus Decor, an environmentally-focused boutique featuring craftsmanship-centered goods, moved in and ran their business until its closure in 2023. Today, this space remains a prominent corner and a vital space in the Market District.
