Inscription. Tom Seaver set a Major League Baseball record by striking out 10 straight batters, and tied a then-MLB record with 19 strikeouts during a nine-inning game. Seaver, who received his 1969 Cy Young Award prior to the game, gave up only two hits in the 2–1 victory over the Padres.

Net proceeds of Citi Field Fanwalk bricks have been donated to the Mets Foundation, which supports area charities and causes.
