1. Black Cat Game Marker

Inscription. With the Mets one and a half games behind first-place Chicago for the division lead, a black cat ran onto the field at Shea Stadium, scampering by the Cubs on-deck batter and across the visitor’s dugout. The Cubs lost the game 7–1, and eventually the division to the Mets.

Net proceeds of Citi Field Fanwalk bricks have been donated to the Mets Foundation, which supports area charities and causes.

2. Black Cat Game Marker
This marker is located on the third-base side of the Citi Field FanWalk.
when a black cat showed up on the field. The cat walked behind the on-deck circle where Santo was standing and then paraded in front of the Cubs dugout before disappearing under the stands. Ron Santo said in an MLB article that appeared years later that the cat “looked right at [Cubs manager] Leo [Durocher] and went underneath the stands.”
