Inscription.
Father Michael J. McGivney, 1852-1890, founder of the Knights of Columbus, comforts the widow and children of a deceased member, a prime concern of the order since its beginning.

These bronze sculptures by Stanley Bleifeld were unveiled by members of the McGivney family, and blessed by His Eminence Agostino Cardinal Casaroli, Papal Secretary of State, on August 6 1982, in the centennial year of the Knights of Columbus.

This plaque was placed in memory of Father McGivney on August 14, 1990, the 100th anniversary of his death.
