It prominently featured the seaside town of Astoria and other areas on the north coast. When standing in front of the sign you can see "The Goonies" house on the hill in the background to the left. The sign was funded in part by the Oregon Coast Visitors Association, the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Oregon Governor's Office of Film & Television, in partnership with the Oregon Film Museum.
