The Square
De bewoners waren samen verantwoordelijk voor het beheer van het plein. Deze gemeenschappelijke buitenruimte werd intensief gebruikt. Met regelmaat werden socialistische manifestaties georganiseerd. Onder andere de Arbeiders Jeugd Centrale (AJC) verzamelde hier voor excursies en sportevenementen. Op 1 mei werd groots de Dag van de Arbeid gevierd. Honderden mensen kwamen bijeen en luisterden naar toespraken van prominente socialisten, onder wie Monne de Miranda en Sam de Wolff. Vanaf ιιn van de erkers aan het plein spraken zij de menigte toe.
The Square
The residents were jointly responsible for the management of the square. This communal outdoor space was used intensively. Socialist rallies were organized there on a regular basis. Among others, the Workers' Youth Centre (AJC) gathered here for excursions and sporting events. On May 1st, Labour Day was celebrated on a grand scale. Hundreds of people gathered to listen to speeches by prominent socialists, including Monne de Miranda and Sam de Wolff. They addressed the crowd from one of the bay windows overlooking the square.
