1. The City Seal Marker
Inscription. On December 1, 1989, Laguna Niguel became the 29th city in Orange County. The City was incorporated as the result of an election in which more than 89% of the voters cast their ballots in favor of "Measure O", creating the new City of Laguna Niguel.

Laguna Niguel is known for its civic pride and spirit of volunteerism. City founders credit the grass roots volunteer efforts of early residents for the overwhelming support of cityhood.

The City Seal was designed shortly following incorporation and tells the story of the rich history of Laguna Niguel, from its pre-historic beginnings, to the modern and vibrant family-oriented community of the present.
