Right where you are standing, from 1912 to 1931, you could catch a ride on the North Texas Traction Company's interurban railway. Five trolley cars, including the 330 car, made three round trips a day. The cars brought an endless variety of supplies to Burleson; dry goods, tractor parts, fresh ice, and perhaps most importantly, ice cream for the soda fountain inside the depot that is sitting in front of you.

The Burleson Interurban Depot has a rich history in the community. It was the first building to have electricity in Burleson. After the interurban railway ceased operations, this building housed the Burleson Dispatcher Newspaper from 1935 to 1985. Currently, the building serves as the Burleson Visitor's Center, encouraging the next generation to participate in Burleson's rich history.
