Elgin in Kane County, Illinois — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Communication Station
Artist Name: CJ Hungerman
Title: Communication Station
Medium: Acrylic
"The basic concept for my mural is sound and positive communication between people. The variety of vessel colored shapes abstractly represent the diversity of people residing in the Elgin community. They are harmoniously grouped together with lines of communication coming out of several of the vessels. The cords flowing out of these holes represent the interactivity of people exchanging ideas and they are a throw back to the old land lines on phones. The geometric tessellation patterns on either end are a symbol of positive energy that is produced during creative expression such as music or theatrical performance." This mural was installed in the fall of 2021.
Erected 2021.
