Regarding Masjid Al-Wājidi. Burhan Academy, a private islamic opened in 2024 on the site of the old Elgin Academy, which had closed earlier that year after almost 170 years in operation.

This marker honors Mawlana Nadeem Al-Wājidi, the father of Burhan Academy's Yasir Nadeem al Wājidi. Mawlana Al-Wājidi was an India-born Islamic scholar and writer who died in 2024.
