Regarding Earl Fatha Hines. A native of Pennsylvania, Hines is considered one of the finest jazz pianists of all time. He came to Chicago in this 20s to join Chicago's jazz scene, and he joined Louis Armstrong in playing in a band at the Sunset Cafe, which was located across the street from this marker, at this intersection.
