1. Kirtland Schoolhouse Marker
Inscription.
This schoolhouse is a replica of the one built on this site in 1819. The original frame schoolhouse served an important role in early Kirtland. Not only was it a school for children, it also functioned as Kirtland's town hall.

On Sundays the building was used for religious meetings. During the 1830s, congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met here for worship services.
