Inscription.
The Shanksville class of the United Brethren in Christ organized January 21, 1844 in the home of Daniel Shank. The congregation built a church at this site in 1887. The present church building was dedicated February 18, 1912.

Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us run the race not only for the prize, but to leave to those behind us a heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives.

This plaque is placed in celebration of the congregation's 150th anniversary, July 10, 1994.
