A trailblazer in the sport of baseball, Jim Abbott overcame adversity to make it to the majors. Born without a right hand, Abbott had a stellar amateur career; being named the nation's best amateur athlete in 1987 and winning a gold medal on the 1988 US Olympic Team. Abbott made his MLB debut in 1989, playing ten seasons, and pitched a no-hitter while playing for the New York Yankees in 1993.
