A 1996 World Series champion, Wade Boggs has had his number retired by both the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays following his illustrious career. Boggs, a first ballot Hall of Famer, ate chicken before every game among other well-known superstitions of his. Boggs appeared in the classic The Simpsons episode "Homer at the Bat" in 1992 alongside other great MLB players of the era.
