Robert Drake was a professor of political science, teaching both undergraduate and MBA students. His courses were known for their innovation and relevance during times of rapid political change. Drake served as chairperson of the BW faculty, his department, and division. His dedication spanned many initiatives across campus, including BW's blue ribbon panel on race relations in the 1970's, which yielded important recommendations for better serving students of color. Drake was also known for sustaining a fruitful partnership with the Washington Semester Program, giving many of BW's best students valuable internship experiences. He was honored with the Strosacker Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1983.
