An Ordained Methodist Minister who served the Pastorate for thirty-four years, a loyal alumnus and college trustee for forty years, Dr. Mayer received the Alumni Merit Award in 1975. The Paul O. and Josephine Mayer Rare Book Room was a gift to Ritter Library and the college in 1976. He will be remembered for his inspirational leadership and dedication to his alma mater.
