Professor of Speech 1955 - 1983
Chairman of the Department of Speech Communication and Theatre 1970 - 1983

James Ross, Professor of Speech, taught for 42 years at Baldwin Wallace College, including 28 as a full-time member of the faculty. He also served as Chairman of the Faculty, his department and the division of humanities. He coached the debate team, including the first all-female Ohio team to place first in National Competition. A onetime professional baseball player, he also was outstanding at tennis and coached the men's varsity team. In addition, he was advisor to the exponent. James Ross will be remembered for his sense of humor, his excellence in teaching and his dedication to his students.
