Having a lengthy career in the Major League dugout as a catcher and a manager, Joe Girardi grew up in Illinois before making his MLB debut with the Chicago Cubs. Girardi was a part of four New York Yankees World Series championships; three as a player (1996, 1998, 1999) and one as their manager (2009). During his time with the Yankees, Girardi caught Dwight Gooden's no-hitter in 1996 and David Cone's perfect game in 1999.
