Luis Robert's talent was noticed early on in Winston-Salem when coaches presented him with his number, 21, due to comparisons they drew between him and Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. After being signed as the top international free agent in 2017 by the White Sox, Robert made his MLB debut as part of Chicago's 2020 Opening Day roster a year after being named to the Dash's 2019 Opening Day roster.
