Dean of Men 1947 - 1952

John R. Sinnema, dedicated alumnus and distinguished faculty member for forty-two years, is remembered for building cultural understanding through his teaching and involvement with the German/American community. He received the Federal Republic of Germany Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit. He served as the president of the National Alumni Association and received the Alumni Merit Award. He was as an outstanding teacher, receiving the Strosacker Award in 1961 and the Ficken Award in 1975.
